4º ESO – We want to change things!
Our 4th ESO students are currently studying how society can change: protest, march, sit-in, speech, rally… These are some ways to show your disagreement. They’ve also been thinking of things that are in need of change amid the educational system. According to them, look at some actions we should take in order to improve the system. - In class it should be compulsory to have several breaks because there are many students who don’t have the ability to concentrate for such a long period of time.
- Students only learn by memorizing and they eventually don’t learn anything valuable. There are also subjects that are not useful for our future.
- There are contents more important that are not studied in school such as first aid, how to handle money…
- The exams have too much weight when it comes to assessing students’ knowledge. We should do more practical assignments like projects and take them into account in the grading system.
Los alumnos y alumnas de 4º de ESO están viendo en inglés cómo avanza la sociedad y las numerosas formas de demostrar su desacuerdo con las leyes y las normas. Reflexionaron también sobre las cosas que se podrían cambiar del sistema educativo.
- Pensamos que podríamos tener más pausas porque se nos hace muy difícil estar concentrado tanto tiempo seguido.
- La principal manera de estudiar es memorizando, y al final se nos olvida la mayoría de lo que estudiamos.
- Hay asignaturas que no consideramos útiles. Vemos cosas más importantes que no nos enseñan como primeros auxilios, manejar un presupuesto…
- Los exámenes tienen demasiado peso a la hora de evaluar, se debería hacer más tareas prácticas como proyectos que contarían más para la nota»
